Join us for a fun Families Together this Friday, the 24th when Clifford the Big Red Dog comes for a visit. We will be reading “Clifford’s First Snow Day” and every child will take home their own copy. Older children will have a choice of chapter books too. Bring your little sweetheart to the fifth annual Yachats Youth Program family Valentine Dance. Mother/Son, Father/Daughter, or any couple combination of friends and family young and old alike. There is no age limit. Each adult will receive a flower to give their little date and there will be refreshments and couples photos too. Music will be provided once again by our very own local DJ-JD. Join us this Friday night for our January Families Together Free Dinner and Storytime. We are featuring the book, “Whoever You Are” by Mem Fox, celebrating the diversity that makes us all unique. Every child will take home a free copy of this special book. We hope you will join us at 6 pm at the Yachats Community Presbyterian Church. We will also celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. including a presentation by local youth.

Have you been naughty or nice? Well Santa is coming and he wants to have breakfast with you! Join Santa and his elves from YYFAP on Saturday Dec. 3rd from 9:00-11:00 am at the Lion’s Hall. Our friendly Yachats Lions will be making a pancake breakfast and there will be lots of fun crafts and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Santa will be there for pictures and so you can whisper what you really want for Christmas. There will be photos with Santa available too. All ages are welcome to attend. (This event is free but donations are always welcome.)
Join us Friday night, April 22nd for Families Together with our friends at the Yachats Community Presbyterian Church beginning at 6 pm. The featured story, in honor of Earth Day, will be “This Tree Counts” by Allison Formento. Dinner will be free and each child will take home a copy of the book. Chapter books that are more appropriate for older siblings will also be available. After dinner we will have some fun crafts for the kids to celebrate Earth Day. There’s no need to sign up ahead, just come and enjoy the fun. You don’t want to miss this one!
We hope you will join us for our annual Dinner Theater Fundraiser. In addition to the lively show, we have many wonderful items for our silent and live auctions this year. We have several getaway packages including a night’s stay at TuTuTun Lodge on the Rogue River, 2 nights stay at Old Town Inn in Florence, a night’s stay at Sea Quest Inn near Yachats. In addition, we have many lovely items from our local businesses and friends. Dinner is donated by Ona Restaurant and Catering, with Chef’s Anthony Velarde and Michelle Korgan are cooking up a delightful meal of surf and turf for us.
This benefit for Yachats Youth & Family Activities allows us to offer high quality programs for children and families in South Lincoln County. We are a nonprofit, state certified childcare center offering preschool, afterschool, literacy and many other programs for families.
