Bring out the tie-dye and join the YYFAP group in the traditional La De Da parade on July 4th. Meet behind the Yachats Commons at 11:30 AM. No tie-dye or want something new and fresh for the parade? Well- you are just in luck because all ages are invited to a special tie-dye workshop on Friday, July 2nd from 4-6 PM. Learn new tie-dye techniques at YYFAP (in the Yachats Commons basement).  It is only $1 per color and you can bring your own items. You can even make something for your dog for ‘Paws for the La De Da parade.’ We also have items for sale such as shirts ($5), tank-tops ($7), scarves ($7), hats ($7) and even bed sheets ($15). All prices include the cost of color. Call (541) 547-4599, for more information.

Oops!

Just noticed a typo in our post about the Duck Race, due to take place on July 4.  The price to sponsor a duck is actually $5, not $3 – which makes the option of 3 ducks for $10 a much better deal!  There is still time to get in on the action.  Visit this Sunday’s Farmers’ Market, the Yachats Visitors’ Center, Raindogs, or Waldport Video to purchase tickets.  All proceeds support activities for children and youth.

Root for your ducks!

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Bring out the tie-dye and join the Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program group in the traditional la-de-da parade on the fourth of the July! The Duck Race begins at 2:30 PM on July 4th, and the first 20 lucky ducks who race down the Yachats River will win vacation packages, skateboard package, fine art, a bicycle and more! Check out the prize display at the Bank of the West in Yachats.  All proceeds support the Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program whose mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for children, to be an advocate for youth and families, and to provide and encourage activities that integrate youth into the community. Tickets can be purchased at the Yachats Farmers Market, Waldport Video, Raindogs, Yachats Visitor Center, and the Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program.
