Helping Hands for middle and high school students is more than a service learning group. Participants initiate their own service projects, with adult guidance to help them learn skills such as group decision-making, teamwork, communication, public speaking, budgeting, and more. Projects have included the Peace Garden behind the Yachats Commons, annual community celebrations of Martin Luther King, Jr., a Food Pantry, and teen and tween nights. Helping Hands is supported by the Lincoln Commission on Children and Families as well as many individual donors and volunteers. Check out the Annual Report to see how to become a YYFAP partner.
