The Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program is proud to announce the Harvest Dinner: Potluck, Seed Swap and Recipe exchange will be held at the Yachats Community Presbyterian Church on October 1st from 6-8 PM. We encourage everyone to bring a dish to share featuring produce they grew, or bought from a local grower, or just bring your favorite special dish. Please bring the recipe for your dish to share with others. You can email your recipe to ckbernard@gmail.com ahead of time and we’ll have it printed in time for the dinner. Attendees can go home with a quickly put-together “Summer Harvest Cookbook” composed of the recipes shared at the event. Also bring flower, herb, or vegetable seeds that you have saved and you’ll be able to collect some more from your local gardener and farmer friends. Also, join us for a brief garden tour to the Yachats Demonstration and Community Garden to see the YYFAP garden plot where kids have been growing food! For more information call (541) 547-4599.
